Welcome to the first issue of the "The Glendale Stream", the City of Glendale's monthly electronic stream of information. The purpose of The Glendale Stream is to keep you informed, engaged, and excited about what's going on in our city. We hope you enjoy the first issue! Green Tree


The Green Tree Road bridge over I-43 is being replaced. This is a Wisconsin Department of Transportation project. The new bridge will have a higher profile and longer spans to help improve safety and capacity in the area. As part of this project, the Good Hope Road entrance ramp to I-43 southbound will be reconstructed, and adjustments to Green Tree Road and Jean Nicolet Road will be made to match the new bridge profile. 

The Good Hope On Ramp to 1-43 SB will be closing Tuesday May 8th at 6 AM for a total of 90 days. Detour Route:

  • Travel west on Good Hope Road past the On Ramp to N Green Bay Ave (HWY 57). Turn left going south onto N Green Bay Ave. Travel to W Silver Spring Drive and turn left going east. Following signs for the On Ramp to I-43 SB.

Brush & Yard Waste

Brush & Yard Waste Season Is Here!

Your Brush & Yard Waste needs to be out by Monday at 7:00 AM on your collection week. Collection will be done throughout your collection week, but we can not guarantee pick-up if placed out after 7:00 AM on Monday.

Advanced Disposal Services (the City's refuse collector) is now collecting brush and yard waste on your collection week. Residents do not have to call in and are not charged for the brush and yard waste collection during this period. Be sure to bag brush and yard waste. DO NOT put leaves and waste in the street.

Memory Connection Center


The North Shore Library is the first library to have a Memory Connection Center in the nation! The center is there to help empower caregivers with the knowledge, resources, support, and programs that are necessary to prepare families and individuals for the journey of caring for someone diagnosed with dementia. For more information visit the North Shore Library Website.

 A Healthy Brain Series is being offered through the month of May.


Beer Garden

May 30th - June 10th,
Kletzsch Park

The Milwaukee County Parks Traveling Beer Garden has two, simultaneously running, tours traveling throughout the Milwaukee County Park System thanks to the partnership with Sprecher Brewing Company.

May 30th - June 10th the traveling beer garden will be in Kletzsch Park. All revenue collected goes back into improving the parks across Milwaukee County.


Bike Rodeo

Saturday, May 19th at Parkway Elementary

This is a FREE event for students 2nd-6th grade to teach basic riding skills, rules of the road & prepare them for riding on the streets safely. The rodeo includes helmet fitting & bike maintenance checks by professionals from Wheel & Sprocket.

Tree City

Celebrating 20 Years as a

Tree City USA!


The City of Glendale is celebrating 20 years as a Tree City USA. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. It provides direction, technical assistance, public attention, and national recognition for urban and community forestry programs in thousands of towns and cities that more than 135 million Americans call home.

The Sprecher Brewing Outdoor Oasis will be opening on Wednesday, May 16.
